Darcey For Judge?
BBC research being carried out today by an independent data compiler has started speculation that Darcy Bussell, who guest starred as a judge on Strictly Come Dancing in the last series, may be offered a full time role – if she proves popular with viewers.
The questionnaire asked the public whether they liked or disliked Bruce Forsyth, Tess Daly, Len Goodman, Alesha Dixon, Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and the final week’s guest judge Bussell. Former popular judge and professional chorographer Arlene Phillips was not listed in the personalities research.
Newspaper reports had suggested Arlene – axed for “younger” singer Alesha – could have a sensational return to the next series of the personality contest, after Tonioli made comments hinting at a return. Fans of the show were left upset by the BBC axing Phillips prior to the start of the new series. Other co-stars also hit out on the decision before being allegedly gagged by the corporation from making any negative comments. The media survey doesn’t go into detail, so it is unclear whether Dixon, who wasn’t popular with viewers due to her replacing Phillips, would remain on board.
Strictly Come Dancing airs with a Christmas special this Friday.
