Soaps Continue To Rate Well

The soaps continued to rate well last night with EastEnders and Coronation Street both topping 10 million viewers.
EastEnders was enjoyed 10.9 million last night as the mystery of who killed Archie rumbles on. The BBC Three repeat was seen by nearly 800,000 viewers giving a combined audience of nearly 12 million viewers for the London based soap.
Elsewhere, a double bill of ITV soap Coronation Street which aired either side of EastEnders drew 10.6m viewers and 11.2 million viewers giving it the title of most watched soap of the day on terresterial television – though the EE combined figure means it was ahead of Corrie.
Emmerdale at 7pm was seen by 8.4m viewers while daytime series Doctors was once again above the 2 million mark with 2.1 million. Last week the BBC medical crama enjoyed some of the best ratings in a year as it shot past the 2 million point thanks to snowed in viewers tuning in to daytime television.
