Bonekickers actress wins role in Undercovers

 

BBCFormer Doctor Who and Bonekickers actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw has won the lead female role in JJ Abrams new spy series Undercovers.

BBCFormer Doctor Who and Bonekickers actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw has won the lead female role in JJ Abrams new spy series Undercovers. NBC has commissioned a pilot episode for a possible new weekly series in a comedy/drama series about two married spies. JJ Abrams has history with spy shows with Allias but he has pledged Undercovers will not be anything like his previous show. Starring alongside the English actress will be Boris Kodjoe and Gerald McRaney.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw played  Trish Jones, sister of companion Martha Jones [Freema Agyeman] in the third series of Doctor Who. The actress played Viv Davis in the short-lived BBC archaeological drama Bonekickers starring alongside Julie Graham and Hugh Bonneville and also appeared alongside Bonneville in Lost in Austin. The actress also appeared as a recurring character in the final season of Bad Girls.
