Hollyoaks Whittle Denies Dangerous Driving

Popular actor Ricky Whittle – regular in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks – and should-have-been winner of the 2009 Strictly Come Dancing contest, has denied dangerous driving at Liverpool Magistrates court.

 

The actor, 29, was arrested in November last year, after he allegedly struck a photographer with his car. The incident took place in the North West city of Liverpool while the star was appearing in the BBC dancing contest. Whittle only spoke to confirm his name, date of birth and plea during the hearing.

 

Released on unconditional bail, he proved he holds no grudges against the press by helping a cameraman up from the pavement who had fallen while recording his exit from the court house.

Whittle plays Calvin [pictured top left] in the teen-aimed Channel 4 series, Hollyoaks – which airs weeknights at 6.30pm.
