Kristian Digby Dead
BBC One daytime presenter Kristian Digby has been found dead in his London home police have confirmed. The gay presenter has hosted a number of programmes for both the BBC and ITV.
Kristian found media prominance after working as a soap critic for a local radio station. He switched to ITV hosting a number of programmes including Sunday Night alongside former GMTV anchor Fiona Phillips. Other programmes include Ozone for Children’s BBC and LWT’s One Night Stand. Digby was last seen on TV on Feburary 24th on BBC One in a screening of property series To Buy Or Not To Buy, which he co-hosted with Ed Hall, the episode had been recorded in 2008.
Police have yet to reveal the circumstances of the 32-year-old’s demise, but they did confirm that currently his death is ‘unexplained’. The presenter and director was discovered early this morning at his East London flat. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Scotland Yard spokesman told The Guardian newspaper “Police were called to reports of a body of a man in his 30s found at an address in Richford Road, E15. Ambulance services attended and life was pronounced extinct. Next of kin were informed and we await formal identification. There will be a post-mortem at 12 noon at East Ham mortuary.”
Digby was the subject of an ‘anti-gay’ article in a tabloid, however his sexuality wasn’t something his career involved often. Only a slight dabble into his gay status arose when he appeared on magazine series That Gay Show. No doubt Jan Moir will be grabbing for her poisonous pen as we speak.
