Nominations announced for Royal Television Society Awards

Mad Men - AMCThe nominations for the 2009 prestigious Royal Television Society awards have been announced. As we reported earlier Coronation Street has been snubbed in the Best Soap/Continuing Drama category but elsewhere there are worthy candidates this year with BBC Two comedy Miranda, Channel Four drama Shameless and critically acclaimed American import Mad Men all getting nods.

The nominations for this years prestigious Royal Television Society awards have been announced and there may be a few surprises in store for some – most notably the absence of Coronation Street for Best Soap/Continuing Drama even though the ITV soap celebrates its 50th anniversary this year [see separate story for more information on that here >> ]. Elsewhere BBC Two’s new hit drama series Miranda is amongst this year’s nominations as is Shameless, The Street and Mad Men. Below you’ll find the complete list of nominations for this year’s awards.
