9 Million see Bradley’s Funeral in EastEnders
On Friday evening over 9 million viewers tuned in for the funeral of Bradley Branning in EastEnders making the BBC One soap the most watched programme of the day and comfortably ahead of its ITV rivals Coronation Street.
On Friday evening over 9 million viewers tuned in for the funeral of Bradley Branning in EastEnders. The character was dramatically killed off two weeks ago in the soaps first live episode to mark its 25th anniversary. Actor Charlie Clements decided to leave the BBC soap after 4 years in the role. Friday night’s edition of EastEnders was seen by 9.3 million viewers with an additional 750,000 viewers tuning in for the BBC Three repeat at 10pm. The figure for EastEnders makes it the most watched programme of Friday evening and comfortably ahead of its ITV rivals. The first episode of the Granada soap Corrie on Friday attracted 8.7 million at 7.30 and 8.8 million at 8.30. Fellow ITV soap Emmerdale was seen by 7.1 million viewers while daytime soap Doctors had 1.7 million viewers at 1.45pm for BBC One.
