CBSFormer Guiding Light actress Marcy Rylan, who played Lizzie Spaulding in the now defunct CBS soap, is to join the cast of The Young and the Restless. The actress will take over the character of Abby Carlton from Hayley Erin in the soaps latest recast.

It’s been announced that actress Marcy Rylan is to join the cast of CBS soap The Young and the Restless. Rylan will be known to Guiding Light fans as Lizzie Spaulding in the now defunct soap – which ended its run last September after 72 years on-air. The actress will join The Young and the Restless in yet another recast as she takes over the role of Abby Cartlon from Hayley Erin. The recast will also see the character of Abby age yet again – the second time producers have aged the character for storyline reasons. Abby was born in 2000 in the soap making her 9/10 years old but the last recast, with Hayley Erin taking on the role, saw the character aged up to 14. Now with Marcy Rylan joining the cast the character will once again be aged.

Rylan will start filming on The Young and the Restless in April and will appear on-screen in May.
