ABC likely to cancel Scrubs
ABC is likely to cancel its comedy medical series Scrubs due to low ratings. Scrubs was picked up by ABC after it was cancelled by NBC after eight seasons – ABC Studios had produced the comedy for NBC – but with most of the original cast having left or only appearing for a handful of episodes the ninth season of Scrubs has not produced good ratings for ABC.
ABC is likely to cancel comedy medical series Scrubs according to media reports in America. Scrubs was picked up by ABC for a ninth season after it was dropped by original broadcaster NBC were it had aired for eight seasons. However, the ABC pick-up saw the departure of several key characters who decided to return for a handful of episodes only. The series has not rated well for ABC and show creator Bill Lawrence doesn’t expect a renewal. ABC has yet to officially announce the fate of the series but its chances of renewing Scrubs for a 10th season isn’t seen as high. ABC’s website had billed the Wednesday evening episode of Scrubs, which will end the 9th season, as a “Series Finale” rather than a “Season Finale” prompting some to believe ABC has indeed axed the comedy.
