Ant and Dec defend Push the Button
Game-show hosts Ant & Dec have defended the performance of their new ITV show Push the Button after it loses nearly 2 million viewers since its launch.
“Remember for us, this was just episode three of series one. I think our show is getting better and better. The general reaction is that people like it. And we are certainly having fun filming it.” – Ant and Dec speaking to The Daily Star
Ant and Dec have defended their new ITV game-show Push the Button after critics started to round on it. The game-show launched strongly several weeks ago with 6.6 million viewers prompting some tabloids to hail it as a new success.
However, since the launch three weeks ago Push the Button has lost nearly 2 million viewers because of tough competition on BBC One in the form of Let’s Dance for Sports Relief. Now the hosts, Ant and Dec, of Push the Button, have come out in defence of their game-show.
Saturday’s edition of the game-show dropped below 5 million viewers but early this week a spokesperson for ITV insisted that they were “pleased” with the performance of the series.
Ant and Dec lost out of a Royal Television Society award earlier this week with the Entertainment Award going to Harry Hill instead of the Geordie Duo.
