Katie Price scores ratings high for ITV2
ITV2’s offering of What Katie Did Next managed to beat Channel Four and BBC Two last night as it scored its highest audience yet. Elsewhere EastEnders topped Coronation Street in the ratings for the 7th consecutive Thursday. Also includes ratings for the season four finale of E4 drama Skins.
What Katie Did Next scored a high last night as the reality series following the antics of Katie Price, always known as Jordan, pulled in its highest audience so far. In doing so the ITV2 series also managed to beat BBC Two and Channel Four in the 9pm slot. What Katie Did Next was seen by 1.5 million viewers beating The People’s Politician on BBC Two which had 1 million and The Lady and the Revamp on Channel Four which had just over 1 million viewers. However, football on Five proved to be slightly more of a crowd puller with 3 million viewers between 7.30pm and 10pm for Liverpool’s match against Lille. BBC One was the overall winner at 9pm with Million Pound Bike Ride: A Sport Relief Challenge seen by 5 million. Finally on ITV1 at 9pm was The Bill which had 3.5 million viewers placing it second in the slot.
Soap wise and once again it was EastEnders that came out tops for the 7th consecutive Thursday in a row. The BBC One soap had 9 million viewers at 7.30pm with a further 830,000 viewers at 10pm for the BBC Three repeat pushing the overall audience for the episode nearer to the 10 million mark. Coronation Street had 8.1 million for ITV1 at 8.30pm while the double bill of rural soap Emmerdale had 7.3 million at 7pm and the also 7.3 million at 8pm. BBC daytime soap Doctors had 1.7 million at 1.45pm. E4 teen-drama Skins ended its fourth season last night with 730,000 viewers down on the 1 million who tuned for the opening episode of the series in January. Last week’s episode of Skins prompted compliants from angry viewers who were upset at the killing off of Freddie [Luke Pasqualino] in a brutal murder scene. E4 has re-commissioned Skins for a further two seasons which will feature an entire new cast.
