Nearly 5000 join Facebook Group to save The Bill

ITVAs we reported over the weekend fans of The Bill – which was cancelled by ITV on Friday – have launched a campaign to save the police-drama. The fans are hoping that another broadcaster steps in and picks up the London based series when it concludes its run this Autumn on ITV1. So far nearly 5000 people have joined the group since Friday.

ITVAs we reported over the weekend fans of The Bill have come together to launch a campaign to try and save the veteran police drama. On Friday ITV announced it was axing the police drama after 27 years following a failed revamp last year. The Bill will end its run on ITV1 in the Autumn but fans of the series are hoping that another broadcaster, such as Five or the BBC, will step in and pick up the series. Several groups were launched on Facebook to try and save the series and so far the biggest group has nearly 5000 members. [Updated: nearly 6000 people have now joined the group].
