The Facebook group to save ITV police-drama The Bill now has over 10,000 members.
Fans trying to save The Bill have grouped together on Facebook and launched a group there – as we’ve previously reported.
In the week since it was announced that ITV were ending the series over 10,000 fans have joined and the numbers are rising each day. The fans are hoping that another broadcaster will pick up The Bill now that ITV have axed it.
Earlier this week ATV News contacted both the BBC and Five both of whom told us that, at the moment, they had no plans to do so.
The group has been featured in several press reports including an article in The Daily Star and they have also created banners for fans to post on other sites to promote the group.
The Bill, produced by Thames Television, began on ITV as a one-off drama Woodentop in 1982. The Bill spun-out of this as a twice weekly, half-hour, saga in 1984. The programme currently airs in hour long slots.
