Another Coronation Street character axed

New producer of Coronation Street Phil Collinson has axed another character on the soap following last week’s announcement that Ashley [Steven Arnold] and Claire Peacock [Julia Haworth] had been dropped from the ITV Soap.

Phil Collinson, the new producer of Granada soap Coronation Street, has axed another character from the series. The latest character to be dropped is hair-dresser Natasha Blakeman played by actress Rachel Leskovac who had a memorable stint in Holby City as a serial killer nurse. Leskovac joined Coronation Street in 2008 and started working at Audrey’s Salon.

During the actresses two year stint on the soap her character has been involved in several storylines such as her brief romance with killer Tony Gordon [Gray O’Brien] and Natasha is currently dating Nick Tilsley [Ben Price]. Natasha will exit Coronation Street later this year leaving a “trial of devastation in her wake”. Last week it was announced that the characters of Ashley [Steven Arnold] and Clare Peacock [Julia Haworth] had been axed from the soap by new boss Phil Collinson. It’s likely in the coming weeks more characters will be dropped from the ITV soap as the producer begins to make his mark on Coronation Street which this December celebrates 50 years on-air.
