Media reports in America suggest that actor Charlie Sheen wants to leave the hit CBS comedy series Two and a Half Men putting the future of the sitcom in doubt.
Media reports in America claim that actor Charlie Sheen wants out of the CBS comedy series Two and a Half Men putting its future in doubt. A report in the People Magazine, now widely picked up by other media outlets in America, claims that Sheen will bow out of the series at the end of its current seventh season and has rejected offers to renew his contract. While some have dismissed the report as an April Fools prank sources have told The Hollywood Reporter that the actor is serious about quitting Two and a Half Men.
CBS has renewed the comedy for a further two seasons which would keep it on air until 2012 at least. However, if Sheen does indeed quit the comedy it places its future in great doubt but as the network has already committed to them Sheen is in a prime position to negotiate a deal to his suiting – if he does decide to remain with the comedy. If the actor does bow out its hard to see how Two and a Half Men could replace him as recasts in comedies rarely work.
