BBC One’s school drama Waterloo Road slipped behind Midsomer Murders last night as nearly 5 million opt for the John Nettles drama. However, although Midsomer Murders was ahead of rivals Waterloo Road on BBC One the ratings were 1.5 million less than those who tuned in for the previous instalment of the bonkers drama in February.
Last night ITV drama Midsomer Murders had the better of BBC One’s Waterloo Road at 8pm. The John Nettles fronted drama had 4.9 million viewers compared to the 4.3 million who tuned into BBC One. However, while the bonkers murder drama was ahead of BBC One at the time it was still considerably down on its last outing. In February a new episode of the drama pulled in 6.5 million viewers – meaning last night’s episode was 1.6 million viewers down. Elsewhere last night Traffic Cops had 3.9 million for BBC One at 9pm while Channel Four had 2.3 million for Jamie Does Marrakech – fronted by chef Jamie Oliver. Fve had 1.5 million for import NCIS at 9pm.
