Breaking news from America is that broadcaster CBS has cancelled four series which include Cold Case and Numb3rs. Although there’s been no official comment from the broadcaster itself reports emerging from America state that CBS has cancelled Cold Case, Numb3rs, Accidentally on Purpose and Miami Medical – all four dramas were on the ‘danger’ list of cancellations for the current season.
CBS will announce its line-up for the forthcoming season later this week and is likely to announce dramas such as CSI: New York, Medium and The Mentalist have all been given new season orders. However, anything could happen and there’s always been a few surprise twists so far such as the renewal of Chuck over Heroes.
Cold Case, Numb3rs, Accidentally on Purpose and Miami Medical join the likes of Scrubs, 24, FlashForward, Heroes, Mercy and Law & Order all of which have been axed by their respective broadcasters. NBC were expected to renew Law & Order for a 21st, and probable, final season but has cancelled the series after running into difficulties over the renewal deal. It’s possible that Law & Order may transfer to a cable channel such as TNT but fans shouldn’t be too hopeful on that. NBC has discussed the possibility of commissioning a television movie, or ‘event’, to wrap up Law & Order something they are also considering for Heroes.
