Joanne Whalley joins The Borgias

British actress Joanne Whalley has joined the cast of Showtime’s forthcoming historical drama series The Borgias, its successor to The Tudors which bows out later this year.

 

British actress Joanne Whalley has joined the cast of Showtime’s forthcoming historical drama series The Borgias, its successor to The Tudors which bows out later this year. The Borgias will revolve around the notorious criminal Renaissance family with Whalley playing Vanossa, the matriarch of the Borgia family. Whalley joins Jeremy Irons and Sir Derek Jacobi who have already been cast in the series. Whalley will be familiar for her roles in The Virgin Queen, Scarlett, The Singing Detective and Edge of Darkness.
