Zoe Lucker signs new EastEnders contract

 

Former Holby Blue and Footballers Wives actress Zoe Lucker has signed a new contract with BBC One soap EastEnders. The actress originally signed up to appear in the soap for seven episodes but bosses have decided to extend her contract with the London based series.

Former Holby Blue and Footballers Wives actress Zoe Lucker has signed a new contract with BBC One soap EastEnders. It was announced earlier this year that Lucker had been signed up by new producer Bryan Kirkwood as be began to make his mark on the soap – as well as introducing new characters a string of current cast members were dropped from the series. Lucker was signed up to play Vanessa Gold, a new love interest for Max Branning, and made her first on-screen appearance on Friday evening.

Bosses on EastEnders originally signed up Lucker to appear in seven episodes but according to Digital Spy the actress has now signed a new contract. This means that later in the year Lucker will return to the soap as Vanessa for an extended period. The actress will be familiar to television audiences for her roles in drama’s such as ill-fated cop-drama Holby Blue and ITV’s guilty pleasure Footballers Wives – in which she played scheming Tanya Turner. Lucker was also one of the celebrity contestants on the last series of Strictly Come Dancing.
