ABC planning to cancel Brothers & Sisters?
Could the forthcoming fifth season of ABC’s soapy family drama Brothers and Sisters be its last?
Could the forthcoming fifth season of ABC’s soapy family drama Brothers and Sisters be its last? There’s certainly rumours to that affect thanks to the network renewing the series for 18 episodes instead of the traditional 22 and also because of the departures of Rob Lowe and Emily VanCamp from the cast. Fans of the series could be forgiven for thinking the end maybe nigh for the drama. However, executive producer David Marshall Grant insists ABC hasn’t pulled the plug.
“No one has told me that it’s the last season,. I’m actually looking at this season as a fresh beginning. That’s one of the things you can do when you jump a year. I want to put our characters in fresh and different places, and hopefully that will have legs.” – David Marshall Grant quoted on Entertainment Weekly
The producer also insisted he wasn’t approaching the fifth season as its final season and won’t be bookmarking it with the first season. . “I don’t want to do that. It’s sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy.” he also told Entertainment Weekly. As Grant stated the fifth season of Brothers and Sisters will follow the likes of Desperate Housewives and Battlestar Galactica when it jumps ahead for the start of the new season.
