Skeet Ulrich joins new Law & Order spin-off
It’s been revealed that Jericho/Scream actor Skeet Ulrich has been cast as one of the leads in the new Law & Order spin-off.
It’s been revealed that Jericho/Scream actor Skeet Ulrich has been cast as one of the leads in the new Law & Order spin-off. According to Entertainment Weekly Ulrich will be one of the two lead detectives on Law & Order: Los Angeles; the latest entry in the crime/legal franchise and the first to be set outside its traditional home of New York. Ulrich will play Rex Winters, an ex marine who posses the natural intuition of a cop. The actor is the first to be cast in the new spin-off series with producers searching for the remaining five roles to be filled.
Skeet Ulrich is probably best known for his role of Jake Green in CBS’s doomed post apocalyptic series Jericho for two seasons before it was cancelled due to low ratings. His other notable role was in the first Scream movie in which he played psychopath Billy Loomis. Ulrich’s other roles include CSI: New York, Miracles and Into The West.
While Law & Order: Los Angeles will be the latest entry in the franchise its debut comes after the cancellation of the mothership, Law & Order. NBC were expected to renew it for a 21st and probable final season but negotiations over renewal reportedly broke down and in the end the network cancelled the series. However, its since emerged that the broadcaster is open to some “event” Law & Order wise to tie up the series possibly meaning a mini-series or television movie sometime in the future.
