Chris Fountain finds Hollyoaks ‘terrible’

Chris became a ‘fountain of information’ during an informal web chat with fans.

Chris, spoke of Hollyoaks sometimes not being very good.

Former Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain has spoken on Twitter Webcam of his feelings towards the Channel 4 soap which he worked on for six years playing the part of Justin Burton.

When asked if he missed working on the Lime Pictures produced teenage soap he said;

“Sometimes yes. Sometimes no. Because sometimes it wasn’t good.”

He went onto add that he had “watched it recently and it was terrible.” Over 200 fans were viewing Chris’ webcam broadcast at its peak, ATV Network’s Lynn Swift being one of them. She says;

“Chris seemed to be enjoying himself, chatting to the fans who were asking him lots of different questions. Some even wanted him to take off his clothes! He of course declined the latter – unfortunately! He was drinking bottled beer, but wasn’t drunk. He ended his broadcast by inviting anyone in the Leeds area to a certain boozer for a drink.”

Kirkwood, took Hollyoaks to ratings and critical acclaim.

Hollyoaks has suffered a ratings slump since Executive Producer Bryan Kirkwood left the series in 2008. Kirkwood oversaw one of the most popular eras of the soap with the programme reaching some of its best ever ratings and critical acclaim. Throughout 2009 his good work was un-done with poorly received storylines.

Channel 4 in early 2010 ushered in former Brookside producer Paul Marquess to try and revive the fortunes of the production, he’s already culled a large number of the cast and now plans to overhaul the look of the series.

Chris Fountain’s career however continues, with a successful stint on ITV’s Dancing On Ice and the sex symbol has theatre roles lined up for later in 2010. He also hasn’t ruled out offers of work in other soap operas.
