In an interview with The Daily Telegraph the Tory MP – and Culture Secretary – warned that the corporation had tough decisions to make and that it would have to cut back on its spending; especially if the licence fee was cut. Today 38 Degrees has launched a campaign aimed at saving the BBC – ala the campaign to save 6 Music from the axe – and is asking people not only to tweet #proudofthebbc but also to email/write to their MP’s.
Twitter users have already rallied to the cause and have tweeted and re-tweeted the slogan.
