Robin Mattson to join Days of our Lives

NBCActress Robin Mattson, who has won four Daytime Emmys and has appeared in seven daytime soaps, is to join the cast of NBC’s Days of our Lives.

NBCSoap veteran Robin Mattson is to join the cast of NBC’s daytime soap Days of our Lives. The actress is certainly no stranger to the world of soap having won four Daytime Emmy’s for her various roles in different soaps. The actress will appear in Days as a Lee a mysterious woman whose character is expected to be tied in with that of actress Stacy Haiduk – her character will be playing a prison warden. Speculation has that Mattson’s character will be a jail bird who strikes up a friendship with Haiduk’s prison warden character.

Mattson has appeared in seven different daytime soaps across her career – some of which are now no longer on-air. The actress began her daytime soap career in 1976 as Hope Bauer on the now defunct CBS soap Guiding Light and her other memorable characters include Janet Green in All My Children, Sugar on The Bold and the Beautiful and Heather Webber in General Hospital. Mattson’s other soap credits include roles in defunct soaps Ryan’s Hope and Santa Barbara and the soon-to-end CBS series As The World Turns. It seemed as though the actress was about to add another soap to her CV earlier this year when speculation was rife that she was going to appear in The Young and the Restless – America’s top rated daytime soap – but these rumours came to nothing.

Mattson will make her first appearance in Days of our Lives in October.
