BBC Two’s Norman Season Launches with 3 million viewers
The launch of BBC Two’s new season on The Normans got off to an impressive start on Wednesday evening with over 3 million viewers. Elsewhere ITV2’s Dannii Minogue: Style Queen was seen by over half a million viewers.
BBC Two’s new season on The Normans, the victors of the 1066 Battle of Hastings, got off to an impressive start on Wednesday evening. The first part of documentary series The Normans, which explored their roots from Viking invaders to French Duchy, was seen by 3 million viewers according to overnight ratings – an impressive and strong launch for the BBC’s new season on the conquers. On Channel Four Cutting Edge Newlyweds: The One Year Itch was seen by 2.3 million at 9pm. BBC One’s The Secret Tourist had 3.4 million at the same time. At 8pm on ITV1 was yet another repeat of Midsomer Murders starring John Nettles; just under 4 million viewers tuned in for the episode.
Earlier in the evening Celebrity Masterchef delivered 4.3 million for BBC One at 8pm while How To Look Good Naked had 1.5 million for Channel Four. Coast on BBC Two had 2.3 million viewers for BBC Two at 8pm while earlier the channel had 2 million for Mastermind: Champion of Champions. Elsewhere ITV2’s Dannii Minogue: Style Queen was seen by over half a million viewers. According to overnight figures 600,000 viewers tuned in for the documentary that followed the X Factor judge as she launched her own fashion range. The documentary couldn’t quite reach the highs though that ITV2 have enjoyed with Peter Andre and Katie Prices’ various shows. The latest round-up from Big Brother had 2.3 million for Channel Four at 10pm. NCIS pulled in 1.4 million for Five at 9pm and Law & Order: Criminal Intent was seen by 1.1 million afterwards.
