Tabloid newspaper The Sun is claiming that actor Brian Capron is set to appear in the new Coronation Street DVD. The actor appeared in the ITV soap as the murderous Richard Hillman but met a watery end in the canal – the paper claims that Capron is set to appear in the DVD as Richard’s brother.

Tabloid newspaper The Sun is claiming that actor Brian Capron is set to appear in the new Coronation Street DVD. The DVD will star Ken Morley (reprising his role of Reg Holdsworth) and Kevin Kennedy (reprising his role of Curly) and according to The Sun Brian Capron as well – playing the brother of Richard Hillman.

“Capron back from the dead will shock millions of fans. He’s back playing his brother and, with his distinctive looks, he must be a twin. The plot lines are absolutely top secret and only a handful of people know about the project.” – A “Source” quoted in The Sun

Brian Capron played murderous Richard Hillman in Coronation Street between 2001 and 2003 during which time he murdered his ex-wife Patricia (Annabelle Apsion) and neighbour Maxine Peacock (Tracy Shaw) and tried to kill Emily (Eileen Derbyshire) and his mother-in-law Audrey (Sue Nicholls). Ruthless Richard also left business-partner Duggie Ferguson (John Bowe) to die following a fall. Richard’s reign of terror came to an end after confessing his sins to wife Gail (Helen Worth) who dubbed him “Norman Bates with a briefcase”. The deranged killer then tried to kill Gail and his step-children by plunging their car into the canal – Richard died but the family survived.

The Richard Hillman storyline provided Coronation Street with huge ratings as 19 million viewers tuned in to see him kill Maxine and attempt to murder Emily. His watery finale topped that with 21 million viewers.

We suggest though that until ITV confirm this story we take it with a pinch of salt.
