Hugh Laurie highest paid actor in US Drama

ITVBritish actor Hugh Laurie, star of House, has been named the highest paid TV Drama actor in America following a survey by TV Guide.

 

A survey by the TV Guide Magazine on the highest paid on American television reveals that Hugh Laurie is currently the highest-paid actor working on television drama in the US. Laurie is the star of the hugely popular drama series House for which he earns $400,000 per episode – meaning he earns more than fellow drama actors in shows such as CSI and NCIS. The actor was virtually unknown in America before taking on the role in House but the UK his roles in Blackadder and comedy pairing up Stephen Fry made him a familiar face of British TV.

 

The survey by TV Guide also reveals that Piers Morgan, the former editor of the British tabloid The Mirror, is the third highest paid performer of reality television. Morgan is one of the judges on America’s Got Talent and has also been linked to a new chat-show in the US – to replace Larry King. The survey reveals that Morgan’s role of judge on America’s Got Talent has earnt him $2 million. Morgan is also a judge on the Britain’s Got Talent and has an ITV chat-show, Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, in which he interviews celebrities such as Katie Price and Sharon Osbourne.
