The Sun is reporting that Shameless actor Elliott Tittensor was arrested last night on suspicion of attempted murder. The tabloid is reporting that the actor, who plays Carl Gallagher in the Channel Four drama – was arrested in North London after allegedly driving his car at an 18 year old lad and hitting him – before driving off without stopping. The incident took place in Kentish Town in North London and also involved Tittensor’s gilfriend; actress Kaya Scodelario who is best known for her role of Effy in Skins.

The tabloid claims that Tittensor and Scodelario were out in Kentish Town when they recognised by the teenager and followed. He stood in front of the actor’s car and that’s when he allegedly drove the vehicle at him. The teenager is in hospital suffering from head injuries sustained when he hit his head on the curb of the pavement. The actor handed himself into police under an hour later and is believed to have passed a breath test.

The actor is best known for his role of scally Carl Gallagher in Shameless which he shared with twin Luke Tittensor for the first season – Luke then left to join the cast of Emmerdale. As well as appearing in the Channel Four drama Elliott Tittensor also recently appeared in the short film Protect Me From What I Want and also appeared in the 2007 BBC thriller True Dare Kiss.
