Stefan Booth has been cast in EastEnders as the finance of Tanya Branning (Jo Joyner).

Stefan Booth has been cast in EastEnders as the finance of Tanya Branning (Jo Joyner). The actor has been cast in the role of Greg, a builder whose first appearance in Albert Square will be tied into the reconstruction of the Queen Vic after is burns to the ground. The Queen Vic fire is rumoured to kill several characters off and fans are already speculating as to whether landlady Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor) will be one of the victims of the fire. Other possible victims of the fire include Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Charlie Slater (Derek Martin).

The character of Greg, which will be revealed as the new fiancé of Tanya, will be a guest role but could become a regular character in the BBC soap. One resident who won’t be welcoming Greg with open arms will be Tanya’s ex-husband Max (Jake Wood). Actress Jo Joyner will be returning to EastEnders following her maternity leave and also filming for a brand new comedy Candy Cabs for the BBC – her return to the soap is sure to send sparks flying with Max.

Actor Stefan Booth will be familiar to fans of Hollyoaks as Jamie Nash between 2001 and 2003 and also appeared in The Bill as gay cop Sergeant Marc Rollins – in a recurring role. Most recently he appeared BBC One’s four-part thriller The Silence and was also one of the celebrity contestants on Dancing On Ice in 2006 – he came second in the competition.
