ABC’s video-on-demand service is to come to the UK as the American broadcaster has signed a deal with BT. The deal between BT and ABC is said to be the first of its kind for the American broadcaster allowing viewers outside the US access to the demand service for the first time.

The ABC TV On Demand service will launch of BT Vision and will give viewers access to shows such as Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters. The deal will also allow viewers to view previous seasons of the dramas and also now ended shows such as Ugly Betty and Lost.

Episodes of the shows on the service will reportedly cost 99p per view. The deal between BT and ABC may also allow UK viewers to watch episodes of the daytime soaps All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital though its unclear whether this will be the case or not.
