According to overnight ratings Marple: The Pale Horse was seen by 5.3 million viewers between 9pm and 10pm, with ratings dropping slightly to 4.7 million for the final half hour of the film. The novel was adapted for ITV’s Marple series despite the fact that although written by Christie it doesn’t feature the sleuth in it – however, the series has previously adapted novels by Christie which didn’t feature Marple in them either.
