Ratings have improved slightly for ITV’s brand new afternoon chat-show fronted by Michael Ball. The Michael Ball Show opened on Monday afternoon, in the 3pm slot, with 670,000 viewers. According to rating figures for Wednesday the chat-show has improved its figures somewhat with 840,000 viewers. The 3pm slot was previously host to David Dickinson’s chat-show earlier in the year but it was a flop and cancelled by ITV. However, Alan Titchmarsh did enjoy considerable success in the slot and was promoted to a 5pm slot last year. Before the launch of his new chat-show entertainer Michael Ball admitted it could fail.

The Michael Ball Show airs daily on ITV1 at 3pm.
