Strong finale for True Blood
The third season finale of HBO’s vampire drama True Blood rated well for the broadcaster.
The third season finale of True Blood rated strongly for broadcasters HBO. The vampire drama pulled in 5.4 million viewers at 9pm on Sunday evening for the big finale of its third season. However, the repeat at 11.30 added a further 1.1 million viewers to the figure giving True Blood a combined rating of 6.5 million viewers. According to HBO once DVR and On-Demand figures are included the third season of the drama has averaged12.7 million viewers.
True Blood is based on the series of novels by Charlaine Harris and is produced for HBO by Alan Ball – who gave us Six Feet Under. It stars Anna Paquin as Sookie – the heroine of the piece – and Stephen Moyer as her vampire lover Bill. In the UK True Blood airs on FX and Channel Four.
A fourth season of True Blood has already been commissioned by HBO.
