Tuesday Ratings: 71 Degrees North loses nearly 2 million viewers

Overnight ratings for Tuesday evening reveal that new ITV1 celebrity adventure series 71 Degrees North lost nearly 2 million viewers. Updated to include ratings for Emmerdale and EastEnders.

 

We start our ratings round-up for Tuesday, as ever, with the battle of the breakfast magazine programmes. It shouldn’t come as any surprise that once again Breakfast on BBC One was the winner with 1.4 million viewers. Daybreak on ITV1 dropped to 760,000 viewers and it seems as though the knives for the new show may be out where the press are concerned. The media have been quick, today, to pick up on the fact the show has lost 20% of its audience since launching last week.

 

At 7pm BBC One’s magazine programme The One Show averaged 4.2 million viewers. ITV1 soap Emmerdale lost nearly 1 million viewers from Monday evening according to overnight ratings. The first episode of Emmerdale of the week, on Monday, had a strong 7.2 million viewers while last night’s episode had 6.3 million viewers. Coast on BBC Two at 7pm had 2.2 million viewers. At 7.30pm on BBC One EastEnders had 8.2 millionj viewers which is down from the 9.5 million who tuned in on Monday evening. At 8pm on BBC One medical drama Holby City had 5.3 million viewers while ITV’s New Who Wants to be a Millionaire had 3.3 million viewers. The Great British Bake Off at 8pm on BBC Two had 2.7 million viewers. At 8pm on Channel Four Celebrity Come Dine With Me had 1.6 million viewers followed by Ramsey’s Best Restaurant at 9pm with 1.5 million viewers. Drama First Light, on the Battle of Britain, had 2.6 million viewers on BBC Two at 9pm.

 

ITV’s new celebrity adventure series 71 Degrees North lost nearly 2 million viewers at 9pm. The series features two teams of celebrities trying to reach North Cape in Norway before each other and had just 2.8 million viewers at 9pm. It launched on Saturday with over 4 million viewers. The series was beaten by BBC One’s factual series The Young Ones which had 3.8 million viewers.
