Geoffrey Burgon dies at the age of 69
Television and film producer Geoffrey Burgon has died at the age of 69. He worked on dramas such as Doctor Who, The Forsyte Saga and Longitude.
Television and film producer Geoffrey Burgon has died at the age of 69. Doctor Who fans will know him for his work on two Tom Baker stories; Terror of the Zygons and The Seeds of Doom. Away from Doctor Who he was a hugely successful and awarding winning composer working on many critically acclaimed productions. He won two Ivor Novello awards; one for his working on the BBC drama Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy in 1979. His second Ivor award came shortly after on the critically acclaimed Granada adaptation of Brideshead Revisited in 1981.
Burgon also scored the late 1980s BBC adaptations of the Chronicles of Narnia and the cult comedy film Monty Python; The Life of Brian. More recently his work has included the ITV remake of The Forsyte Saga and the Channel Four drama Longitude.
