EastEnders Crowned Best Soap at Inside Soap Awards

 

BBC One’s EastEnders was crowned Best Soap at this years Inside Soap awards.

 

BBC One’s EastEnders was crowned Best Soap at this years Inside Soap awards. The soap won six awards at the ceremony including the Best Soap and Best Actress for Lacey Turner who plays Stacey Slater/Branning. Ricky Norwood, who plays Fatboy, won Best Newcomer – he first appeared in the web-based spin-off, E20. Emmerdale actor Danny Miller received further recognition for his role of gay teen Aaron Lively in the Yorkshire based soap; he scooped the Best Actor and Best Dramatic Performance awards.

Coronation Street also did well at the Inside Soap Awards winning four categories with the siege at Underworld winning one such award. Craig Gazey, who plays Graeme, won Funniest Performance – he previously won Best Newcomer for the soap. The ITV soap also picked up Best Young Actor award ahead of its 50th anniversary later this year. Neighbours won Best Daytime Soap – a new category for the awards. The soap, which airs on Channel Five in the UK, beat Home and Away and Doctors to scoop the award. Long-term actor Ryan Moloney, who plays Toadfish Rebecchi, was at the ceremony to receive the award.
