Joe McElderryLast years winner of The X Factor, Joe McElderry, has admitted he is plagued with nerves over his performance on the results show this evening. McElderry will perform his new single Ambitions tonight in front of an audience expected to be as a high as 16 million. Last night the X Factor pulled in 12.4 million viewers for the first live show of 2010 and tonight it will be revealed which two acts will be voted off first by the viewers. McElderry has admitted he’s been plagued by nerves and does not want to repeat the performance given by previous winner Leon Jackson several years ago.

I’m so nervous. I feel sick just thinking about it. “I feel like I need to prove to people that I deserved to win. . If I go on stage thinking about Leon then I’ll get more nervous. You have to be positive. I have had nightmares, though. I dreamed I got on stage to sing and it was covered in slime and I couldn’t stand…..” Joe McElderry speaking to Daily Star Sunday

Joe McElderry won the X Factor last year beating Stacey Solomon and Olly Murs. Runner up Olly Murs recently released his own single which reached Number One in the UK Charts. The singer promised to strip for fans should his single reach number one so as promised, he did a naked photoshoot for Heat magazine. However, if fans are hoping that McElderry will follow suit they will be disappointed; he criticised boyband The Wanted for stripping for the Gay Times and vowed he wouldn’t resort to the same.
