The BBC commissioned two further instalments of Rock & Chips because of its ratings success. The series is set in the 1960s and is a prequel to the long-running comedy Only Fools and Horses. John Sullivan penned that series and also wrote the first episode of Rock & Chips. James Buckley played the teenage ‘Del Boy’ with Nicholas Lyndhurst playing father Rodney Trotter. Buckley is probably best known for his role in the E4 comedy series The Inbetweeners.
