NBC orders full seasons of The Event and Law & Order: Los Angeles

NBC has picked up The Event, Outsourced and Law & Order: Los Angeles for full seasons.

NBC has announced it has given full season orders to The Event, Outsourced and Law & Order: Los Angeles. It is also on the verge of giving a full season order – amounting to nine additional episodes – to Chuck.

“We are pleased with the quality of The Event, Law & Order: Los Angeles and Outsourced, and feel they are an important part of helping to re-build our schedule and our studio pipeline. We believe in these new series and the creative auspices behind them.” – Angela Bromstad

The Event has been a surprise hit for NBC with good reviews and strong ratings although they have dropped since its premier. Law & Order: Los Angeles is the first entry in the franchise to be set outside New York (excluding remakes in France and the UK) and launched as NBC decided to cancel parent series Law & Order after twenty years on-air. It was hoped that a special television movie or mini-series of Law & Order could be made to wrap up storylines and give the show a proper send off but that is extremely unlikely to happen now.
