ITV is reportedly considering offering Christine Bleakley a new series to present as Daybreak continues to flop with viewers. According to The Sunday Mirror ITV are planning to hand Christine Bleakley a new series to present in the New Year. The tabloid claims that bosses are waiting until The X Factor is over to hand Bleakley a new Saturday evening show which mean her spending less time presenting the breakfast programme on ITV.

“Everyone’s worked hard on the show but it’s not gelling with people. Itv bosses are now working out where Christine can do a show without the pressure of Daybreak hanging over her head. They have always felt she should host a Saturday night show. People expect it to happen after Christmas, once The X Factor is over.” – A ‘source’ quoted in The Mirror

When ITV signed up Christine Bleakley from the BBC part of the contract was for the presenter to front other programmes alongside Daybreak. Adrian Chiles also has a similar deal which sees’ him front ITV’s football coverage alongside his presenting duties on Daybreak. Friday morning’s edition of Daybreak saw ratings drop to 600,000 viewers and you can read more about that here >>
