Joe McElderry: ‘I feel sorry for John’
Joe McElderry has said he feels sorry for John Adeleye after the singer was voted off The X Factor on Sunday evening.
Sunday evening saw another hopeful booted off The X Factor and this time around it was John Adeleye who came bottom in the public vote with Treyc Cohen. After the two contestants sung before the judges again only Louis Walsh, who was John’s mentor, opted to save him with the other judges voting to keep Treyc on the series. Last year’s winner Joe McElderry has spoken up for John Adeleye and denies that the lack of media interest was too blame for his exit from The X Factor.
“I feel sorry for John. He’s got an amazing voice. He didn’t get the right songs. He could have had so many better songs. Something that brought a bit more personality out. I don’t think the backing dancers made a difference. It’s the whole package obviously, but it’s got to be based around a voice and he’s got an amazing voice” – Joe McElderry on the Xtra Factor.
Simon Cowell blamed Adeleye exit from The X Factor on Louis Walsh and his poor song choice for the singer. Previous acts to exit the competition this year – such as Diva Fever – have blamed their mentors for poor choices in songs resulting in them being kicked off the competition.
