Saturday Rating: The X Factor continues to dominate ratings
Ratings from Saturday evening which saw Strictly Come Dancing top 10 million viewers but The X Factor on ITV1 was still ahead with over 12 million viewers.
Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One on Saturday evening had an average audience of 10.3 million which is slightly down on its figure for last week – it peaked at 11.8 million viewers. Fantasy drama Merlin continued its third series on BBC One with 5.6 million viewers which was also slightly down on last week’s figure. Later in the evening medical drama Casualty continued to struggle in the ratings with 4 million viewers – again down on last week’s audience.
Over on ITV1 the latest edition of The X Factor had 12.2 million viewers peaking at 13.8 million viewers during the evening. Earlier in the evening Harry Hill’s TV Burp had 5.5 million viewers. Following The X Factor was Piers Morgan’s Life Stories which featured Britain’s Got Talent runner-up Susan Boyle talking about her journey to international fame. The interview between Susan Boyle and Piers Morgan was seen by 6.7 million viewers peaking at 8 million. The figure was up on last week’s edition of the chat-show which featured Rod Stewart.
