Over 6 million show support to Pride of Britain
The Daily Mirror Pride of Britain awards last night attracted a healthy audience as ordinary people are honoured for acts or bravery and heroism.
The awards which were filmed at the beginning of the week were shown on ITV 1 at 8pm last night in a two hour extravaganza. Hosted by former Countdown co-host Carol Voderman, royalty and celebrities attended to honour ordinary members of the public who have shown acts of outstanding bravery, from saving the lives of others to raising phenomenal amounts of money to help others.
The Pride of Britain awards attracted 6.3 million viewers to ITV 1, beating the competition in the 8.00pm hour. The Apprentice on BBC One at 9.00pm attracted 6.4 million viewers, as Lord Sugar appeared on both channels.
