One Show host Jason Manford resigns

The One Show host Jason Manford has apparently resigned.Twitter was alight with rumours that Jason Manford has either been sacked or decided to resign from The One Show. A News Of The World reporter on Twitter has tweeted that Jason has resigned. “Am told Jason Manford has actually RESIGNED from The One Show, according to BBC source. More to follow…”

The comedian has quit the weekday programme to “concentrate on my family and tour commitments”. In an interview with The Sun, published in today’s edition, the comedian admitted to having had online conversations with fans which had gone “too far” in some cases. The BBC has said that they accept his decision to leave the show.

 Jason Manford took over as host earlier in the year after Adrian Chiles quit for Daybreak. Jason Manford was due to present the show with Christine Bleakley, but the BBC withdrew their offer to her after she debated in public whether to stay with the BBC or move to ITV. She now presents Daybreak, with Adrian Chiles. Jason Manford hosted his first One Show with Alex Jones on Monday 16th August. Chris Evans hosts the Friday edition of the show.
