EastEnders: Peter Beale to Leave

Thomas Law is leaving his role as Peter Beale in EastEnders, it has been confirmed.

He has played the fifth incarnation of Ian Beale’s son since 2006; although while bosses have, in recent years, beefed up the role of his Peter’s twin sister Lucy with teen rebellion storylines, 16 year old Peter has generally remained a non-presence in the show with little screentime devoted to the storylines he has had such as his romances with Whitney Dean and Lauren Branning.

“Peter Beale will be leaving screens towards the end of the year, but a return for the character hasn’t been ruled out for 2011.”

 

“As with Ian’s wayward daughter Lucy, Peter is a character who could arrive back in the Square in the future depending on storylines.”

The beeb are staying tight-lipped on how Peter will depart Albert  Square. Law, meanwhile, will be making his panto debut this Christmas in a production of Peter Pan.
