Actor Ian Somerhalder has joked that his CW drama series The Vampire Dairies would easily beat vampire film franchsie Twilight in a fight.

 

Actor Ian Somerhalder has joked that his CW drama series The Vampire Dairies would easily beat vampire film franchsie Twilight in a fight. Somerhalder plays vampire Damon Salvatore in The Vampire Diaries which is on the novels, of the same name, by L.J Smith. While The CW series is popular with audiences and is one of the broadcasters top-rated shows its popularity is undoubtedly dwarfed by the film franchise Twilight.

The actor made the comments in regard to a showdown between the two vampire related series. The Twilight films are adapted from the novels by Stephenie Meyer and stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Launter and Xavier Samuel. The films are particular popular with teenage girls due to the good looking cast and the soapy storyline.
