BBC undecided on second series of Lip Service

Lip ServiceThe BBC has not yet commissioned a second series of Lip Service, the BBC Three Lesbian drama set in Glasgow. A spokesperson for the BBC told ATV Today that no decision had yet been reached on a possible second series of the drama. Lip Service opened on BBC Three with nearly 600,000 viewers and while ratings dropped slightly over subsequent episodes they remained steady.

 

The drama was however, criticised by some for its graphic sex scenes and for being unrealistic. A survey by PinkPaper concluded though its readers though the drama was a realistic portrayal of lesbian life. Lip Service starred Ruta Gedmintas, Laura Fraser, Roxanne McKee and Heather Pearce.

 

It was part of the BBC’s drive to improve its portrayal and representation of the LGBT community throughout the corporations output. UPDATED: BBC has ordered a second series of Lip Service. Read more here >>
