New characters heading to Hollyoaks
Several new characters are heading to Channel Four soap Hollyoaks.
It’s been announced that Hollyoaks, the Channel Four soap, are to introduce three new regular characters to the cast. The three new additions to the cast are part of producer Paul Marquess’ continuing revamp of Hollyoaks. Marquess has already made his mark on the soap by axing quite a few characters, introducing new families such as the Costello’s and more recently the dramatic fire which ripped through part of the village. The new additions to the cast will continue with details of three new characters revealed.
Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter) is set to get a new best friend in the shape of Liberty who will be played by actress, singer/song-writer Abi Phillips. It won’t be Phillips first work for Hollyoaks though as her song, Missing You, was recently featured in Hollyoaks. The track proved popular with the audience when it featured in Steph’s (Carley Stenson) funeral. Liberty’s fiancé Ethan will also be one of the new arrivals in the soap and will be played by Craig Vye.
The third new addition to the soap will be Pete played by actor Peter Mitchell. The actor appeared in Cast Off’s and will join the soap as an ‘old friend’ of Brendan Brady (Emmett J. Scanlan) and turns up in the village with an old score to settle. Actor Peter Mitchell has used a wheelchair since he was left paralysed in a car accident in 2002.
While Liberty and Ethan will make their first on-screen appearances next week Pete will not appear until February.
