A tabloid newspaper claims that Coronation Street bosses fear there are plans by mischief-makers to disrupt the soap’s live episode next week. The Sun claims that bosses at Coronation Street have put security on alert after suggestions that some mischief-makers were determined to disrupt next Thursday’s live episode. While there are no suggestions that an invasion of the outdoor set will be attempted by the would be trouble-makers there plans do reportedly include setting of fireworks and sounding car horns in streets near the Granada Studios – both of these things would be heard during the live episode.
“The live episode will involve scenes both inside and outside of the sets, so any undue noise or things like rockets being set off will be a nightmare. A lot is riding on the live episode, people are obviously nervous, so talk of these idiots trying to cause extra headaches doesn’t help. The roads around the studios are all public so people can’t be stopped from being there.” – An “insider” talking to The Sun
Rehearsals for the live episode began on Monday evening and around 60 actors will be involved in the episode. The 50th anniversary special will deal with the aftermath of the tram-crash and will see some residents fight for there lives.
