Will the anti-X Factor silent song make the Christmas No.1?

Musicians have turned out to show support to a Facebook campaign to try and stop the X Factor winner getting the Christmas number one.

Last year, the Rage Against The Machine campaign organised on Facebook stopped 2009 X Factor winner Joe McElderry getting to number one. Many indie music stars turned up to a recording studio Monday to record…nothing. The campaign, which is called ‘Cage Against The Machine’, is aiming to re-create John Cage’s 4’33” – a silent song.

The current betting odds give this re-working little chance, with the X Factor winner currently favourite to take the Christmas number one spot. This weekend will see either Matt Cardle, Rebecca Ferguson, One Direction or Cher Lloyd win The X Factor 2010.
